Polar Blox™ Universal Guards are designed for metal roofing,
standing seam panels and corrugated roofing where they comfortably
fit between ribs on a 8" - 24" Center.
Advantages:
- Our full size polycarbonate snow guard is designed for new construction and can be retrofitted onto existing roofs.
- They can be installed mechanically with washer head screws and sealant or by using our SB-190 Adhesive.
- The Universal Guard is pre-drilled with 6 mounting holes.
- A 5" x 3" face and 5" x 3" base with 4 interior reinforcing ribs provides over 3000 lbs. of strength, when mechanically fastened, to keep dangerous snow and ice from sliding off your roof damaging gutters and property below.
- UV Protected - won't fade or break down from sun or harsh weather.

Calculating Rows Needed:
Run (distance from eve to ridge) x Snow Load x CTC of Panel in feet.
If you have a 20' run x 30# Snow Load x Using 12" CTC Panels.
20 x 30 x 1 = 600#PSF
The adhesive mounted system is rated for in excess of 800#PSF when correctly installed with SB-190.
These guards are rated for in excess of 3000#PSF when correctly installed with mechanical fasteners (Min. 4).
For Adhesive Mounting:
As long as your number is below 800# PSF, one row should do the job. If your number is 800-1500 you will need to add a second row to distribute the weight evenly. The first row over the weight bearing wall, the second row half-way between the first row and the eve.
1600-2300 will need 3 rows and so on.
For Mechanical Fastener Mounting:
Up to 2900 - 1 Row
3000-5900 - 2 Rows
6000+ - 3 Rows or More.
Suggestion: For panels over 12" in width, you can use multiple guards per panel to assist in lowering the effective snow load on each guard. We would recommend using 2 on panels over 16" to prohibit snow from coming around the guards. Likewise for panels over 30" we would recommend 3 per panel.
